What is Cubby House English?

When I think of the word cubby house or see a picture of a cubby house, it makes me think of when I was a child playing in my own cubby house in Australia.

It was a place where the neighborhood children could come and spend the whole day playing, decorating, exploring and at the same time learning how to take care of our special little house. We made our cubby house our own little place that we built by ourselves.

The only time we got interrupted was when Mum would call us in for lunch or an afternoon snack. Apart from that we were in our own little world.

The reason we chose the title Cubby House English is because we want the children of Niigata to feel like our school is their own little cubby house or their own little world. A place they can decorate the way they want, where they can come and meet and make new friends, spend their day playing, exploring and creating new experiences for themselves. But at the same time without even knowing, learning a lot of new things about themselves, the world around them and mastering the English language.

We want to create an experience as close as we can to the way native English speaking children play and use English as a communication tool through play and experiences.

We are excited to be able to bring this to the people of Niigata. We are looking forward to seeing you soon at Niigata’s first Kids Cubby House.

Theme based curriculum

Here at Cubby House English the children will spend their day learning and exploring their surroundings and themselves through our stimulating and exciting monthly theme based curriculum and planned activities. The children will be encouraged to try, explore and to challenge their own skills everyday. This will help the children build both character and confidence in themselves and their own ability.

Freedom of choice

Although it it recommended for preschool students to attend as many days of school as possible to maximize your child’s acquisition of the English language, we offer from 2 days attendance per week to provide an easy start for you. Attendance day can be increased at anytime to fit in with your needs, situation and convenience.

Ongoing support and personalized counseling

At Cubby House English our professional, qualified and experienced staff will be available for support and counseling throughout the whole time your child is enrolled at Cubby House English.
